Payroll Administrator (Term Position)

JOB DESCRIPTION

We are looking for a Payroll Administrator to join our team. Reporting to the Controller, the successful candidate will be responsible for the preparation of regular payrolls for production staff.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Prepare and/or process hourly payroll for employees
  • Prepare calculations for new hires, changes, terminations, etc.
  • Reconcile source deductions, benefits, and WCB
  • Process remittances related to payroll including disbursements to benefit carriers and tax authorities
  • Liaise with staff and management on payroll related inquiries
  • Develop various month end reports
  • Prepare Records of Employment using ROE Web
  • Prepare various correspondence, statistical summaries, and other material related to payroll function
  • Assist Management with internal and external audits
  • Maintain employee confidence and protect payroll operations
  • Stay up-to-date with changes in payroll laws and regulations to ensure compliance
  • Participate in cross-functional projects and initiatives as needed to support the overall goals of the organization

Qualifications:

  • Have the legal right to work in Canada
  • Exceptional communication skills, both written and verbal
  • PCP designation and experience using an in-house payroll system or HRIS software for employee record management are assets
  • Knowledge of basic accounting principles
  • Computer skills, proficiency in the Microsoft Office suite
  • Experience in an office setting with payroll experience
  • Strong time management, and organizational skills
  • High degree of attention to detail
  • Ability to work independently
  • Capability to maintain confidentiality
  • Strong analytical, critical thinking, problem-solving skills, and a high degree of accuracy and attention to detail

Working Conditions:

  • Monday to Friday, on-site.
  • This is a term position with a duration of 12 months.
  • Working in an office environment.
